Lead Consultants : Geof Beesley and Adrian Vickers
The relocation of the Royal Victoria Hospital (Edinburgh) to the Western General Hospital aimed to provide modern, 100% single bedded accommodation for six elderly care and rehabilitation wards with integral therapy support to replace redundant wards which are no longer "fit for purpose".
Procured as part of the Frameworks Scotland procurement framework, Fusion Health LLP, headed by Geof Beesley, led the health planning team to interpret the clinical specifications generated by the Health Board and so to generate an appropriate schedule of accommodation. As with the Momentum Pathways to Healthcare Project, the initial work stream involved the review of the Health Board´s 1:200 design solution, the validation of the clinical specifications and suggestions as to how both documents could and should be amended to generate an affordable, clinically appropriate design solution.
Adrian Vickers validated the Health Board´s capacity plan, extending the data range that had been initially used to generate it and so produce a far more accurate model.
